![]() ![]() At $130, the Logitech G Pro X is pricey for a wired gaming headset. These upgrades, however, don’t come cheap. The G Pro’s disappointing stereo sound also gets an upgrade to surround sound on the G Pro X. The finicky microphone was the biggest drawback to last year’s G Pro headset and has been completely reworked with the addition of Blue VO!CE technology to the G Pro X. The G Pro X features more metal in its design for a sturdier, better looking package but more substantial changes are under the hood. Logitech acquired Blue last year, and the G Pro X Gaming Headset ( See it at Amazon / See it at Amazon UK ) is the first headset produced with the two working in tandem. ![]() Reviewed in the United States on 4 June 2023Logitech swung and missed with last year’s G Pro Gaming Headset and has updated its Pro line by bringing Blue Microphones to the party. Use Blue VO!CE with ANY 3.5mm TRS microphone or headset! Sure there is free(mium) broadcast processing software out there that can do this stuff for any audio interface or DAC or OS, but they require a bit more setup. This is all separate from the Logitech GHUB/Blue Voice software, which has a compressor and limiter for its loudness control. The mic input has a "Custom" tab in the properties which has an Auto-Gain Controller (AGC) that turns up quiet audio until loud sounds happen. The hardware itself can do 16-bit 16khz to 48khz and works with Dolby Atmos or DTS-X spatial sound for headphones (don't use the GHUB implementations for "surround"). Also, this works with NVIDIA Broadcast's AI noise-reduction/speech-detection (RTX Voice) software. There are software algorithms for noise reduction and an expander/gate in Blue Voice which work much better. The "hardware noise reduction" algorithm is bad, but that's expected from an unofficial device. I use my wired ModMic with it and a pair of Audeze or Sennheizer headphones, resulting in a fantastic headset with processing that is effortless and deep, and present. This software turns any mic into something broadcast quality and is headset independent. It allows one to use Logitech's GHUB software which contains the amazing mic processing software Blue Voice, which is the entire purpose of this existing, as far as I can tell. This little thing is just what I had been looking for.
